Chiefs Star Suggests Amakhosi’s Biggest Flaw

Bernard Parker Thinks He Knows Where Kaizer Chiefs Went Wrong

By Soccer Laduma - May 22, 2018 01:04 PM

Bernard Parker may have ended his season with a piece of silverware to celebrate, but the Kaizer Chiefs star thinks he knows what they lacked this year.

The Amakhosi set an unwanted record this season as they went three whole seasons without a single major trophy for the first time in their history, but Parker was given the gong for Goal of the Month after his goal against Ajax Cape Town.

Speaking to the club’s official website about the goal, Parker said, “It’s been a roller coaster season for us. I am grateful that I scored in the game that we won. It was indeed a great goal, but mostly for me, contributing to the team’s success is the most important thing. I’m thankful to my teammates and the opportunity afforded by the Kaizer Chiefs family.”

Meanwhile, the veteran striker – who scored four league goals himself – believes that they were lacking key aspect that stopped them challenging Mamelodi Sundowns for the Absa Premiership title.

He added, “We could have tussled for the league title if we had been more consistent. We have learned our lessons and should do better in the next season.”

Chiefs will return for pre-season on June 25th as they plan to bring back the glory days under whichever new head coach is chosen to replace Steve Komphela.

Parker must leave the team asap. He keeps talking nonsense every season. Tell shabba, maluleke, katsande, mathoho and FAT KHUNE to follow you

Players like Parker must lead in the front line and guide the youngsters . A striker of 6 goals per season is not serious . Either he pull his socks or he must get offloaded

For the past 3 seasons you've been getting more game time than any striker and how many goals and assist did you have, i bet it isn't more than 25 in 3 season. and u come here and tell us u have learned your lessons. Your time is up, give up and coming youngsters a chance. u have run your race and it took us nowhere.

For Chiefs to kill the teams this coming season, they must hire Kgoloko Thobejane the football killer himself.

@305majola FAIR SIR, HOWEVER I REMEMBER PLAYING SEMI PROFESSIONAL JOLA WHEN THINGS DID NOT GO OUR WAY WE WOULD SIT DOWN AND ADDRESS THE CHALLENGES THAT SEEMED TO BE THE OBSTACLES IN THE TEAM AND OUR NEIGHBOURS ORLANDO PIRATES WHEN CHIPS WERE DOWN THEY WOULD SIT DOWN AND ADDRESS THE CHALLENGES THEY HAD HENCE THE EXPERIENCE OF BENNY AND THE LEGWATIS PREVAILED AND THAT IS THE ROLE OF SENIOR PLAYERS.

@Mentashe the guys you just mentioned most of them didn't get much game time. Masilela was injured for most part of the season, rama was also injured for most part of the season and when he came back he was not the regular starter. Shabba was the best chiefs player this season,he carried the team on his shoulders. The preferred striking partnership for khompela was moon and Castro. So Parker was not also a regular. So tell me how did these guys let the team down? Maluguana is not the young star the guy is turning 30 this year.

NO PARKER BRO, CHIEFS WAS LET DOWN BY THE SENIOR PLAYERS, LIKE YOU, SHABBA, MATOHO, MASILELA RAMA, KATSANDE AND COMPANY. THE PLAYERS I JUST LISTED ARE THE PLAYERS WHO HAVE ENOUGH EXPERIENCE TO CARRY THE TEAM ON THEIR SHOULDERS AND WE AS SUPPORTERS TRUSTED THEM TO DO THAT, INSTEAD YOUNGSTERS LIKE ZUMA, ZULU,MOON AND NEW PLAYERS LIKE MPHATI WEHLELO MALOLONGOANE WERE THE ONES WHO LOOKED MORE WORRIED TO LOSE.
