Despite undergoing a successful operation on his ankle, Kaizer Chiefs striker, Bernard Parker, could still miss the start of the 2014/15 season as he recovers.
The Siya crew reported recently that the 28-year-old faced around six weeks on the sidelines due to the operation, though it seems that it may take him longer to recover than originally expected.
Parker had been carrying a knock to his ankle for several months, though he chose to keep playing for his club and country, but was then forced to go under the knife once the season came to an end.
Of course Parker’s recovery time can dramatically change depending on how his ankle responds to the surgery, though he will certainly miss the start of Chiefs’ pre-season preparations, and possibly the Amakhosi’s first few games too.
The Bafana Bafana international finished last season as the PSL’s top scorer with 10 goals, however hasn’t found the back of the net since February.
