Parker Lauds Chiefs Players After Strong Comeback
Bernard Parker has lauded his Kaizer Chiefs teammates following their 4-1 come-from-behind victory against SuperSport United on Saturday night.
The Amakhosi went behind inside the first 25 minutes after a thunderous strike from Togolese marksman Dove Wome gave Gordon Igesund’s charges a 1-0 lead, which they held on until the half time break.
Steve Komphela’s men started the second stanza like a house on fire, getting onto the scoresheet through in-form George Lebese (x2), Ivan Bukenya and Siphiwe Tshabalala.
‘Hond’ tells the Siya crew that their fighting spirit made them come back strongly.
He added that after a motivational talk from coach Komphela at half time, the players took it upon themselves to make sure that they win the game.
"We came back strongly in the second half. We knew we could do it and after a good talk at half time the players took it upon themselves and made sure that we fought for each other and make sure that we won the game.
“The fighting spirit worked for us and we won the game. We came back strongly and it helped us, "Parker concluded.
The Amakhosi are now looking to take this result into their MTN8 final against Ajax Cape Town on Saturday, September 19.
