Former Platinum Stars defender, Benson Mhlongo, is set to complete his anticipated move to Polokwane City.
As previously reported by the crew last week, Rise and Shine tabled a two-year offer for the former Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates defender.
Nonetheless, the crew is now informed that the Alexandra-born player is set to sign on the dotted line anytime from now. Mayanga had previously been linked to PSL returnees, Chippa United, however the deal never materialised.
The crew is informed that both the club and Mhlongo are now finalising the contract for the player, and the signing could be a done deal by the end of this week.
Speaking to the crew, the club's PRO, Patrick Baloyi, revealed that the chairman has not made any confirmation or signing yet.
"The chairman has not announced any signing yet. Like I said previously, Benson is such an experienced talent. His experience will definitely be vital for the club as we look forward to our 2014/15 campaign," said Baloyi.
Mhlongo parted ways with Dikwena after joining them in 2012, where he played a pivotal role in their MTN8 and Telkom Knockout Cup glory last season. Nevertheless, the Rustenburg-based club released him after they opted against renewing his contract.
Meanwhile, the club has also announced that trials will be held on Wednesday and Thursday in Polokwane(18&19 June), and not Thursday and Friday as it was previously reported.
