Following the appointment of Benni McCarthy at English Premier League giants Manchester United, Soccer Laduma looks at South African coaches who are working in various parts of the world.
McCarthy, who left AmaZulu in March after leading them to the CAF Champions League group stages, was confirmed as a member of Erik Ten Hag's technical team. McCarthy is not the only South African coach working outside the borders of the country.
Former Bafana Bafana left back Bradley Carnell is currently working in Major League Soccer for St Louis City FC, having previously had a spell as assistant coach of New York Red Bulls. Another former national team player, Steven Pienaar is working in the development structures as a coach at a club he first played for in Europe, Ajax Amsterdam.
Former Black Leopards coach Alan Clark is currently working in Kosovo.
Morena Ramoreboli has been doing well as head coach of Jwaneng Galaxy in Botswana. He led the club to the CAF Champions League group stages last season.
Alan Koch, a former national under-23 player, is working as coach of FC Edmonton in the Canadian Premier League.
Leroy Maluka, who was born in Cape Town, has been working in Finland as head of fitness at Espoon Palloseura.
