AmaZulu FC coach Benni McCarthy has expressed his satisfaction on new signing Thabo Qalinge after his impressive debut against Black Leopards.
Qalinge made first appearance in over a year after struggling to find a club. The winger was given a lifeline at Usuthu and McCarthy was impressed with 'Section 10' and his debut in AmaZulu colours.
"Listen if you sign a player, you sign a player based on the quality he has and what he can contribute in the team. Section 10.. since he came in, he has been good and impressed. He can only get better, " McCarthy said, speaking to the club's media department after the game.
"It was just matter of time before we start him, hopefully he can add the quality that we've seen (during) trainings this week and the week before we signed him," added the coach.
McCarthy has vowed to help the former Orlando Pirates and Mpumalanga Black Aces midfielder return to his best and ensure that he contributes to the success of AmaZulu, as they aim for top honors.
"He has done well, we just need to get him in the groove. He will add value on what the team wants to achieve and finish."
