Cape Town City head coach, Benni McCarthy says that his side is hungry to go out and get a result against Kaizer Chiefs.
The Citizens will welcome Chiefs to the Cape Town Stadium on Saturday, September 14, in an Absa Premiership clash, with City looking to return to winning ways and Amakhosi in search of their first league win for the 2018/19 campaign.

Speaking to the media at the Woza Nazo Absa Premiership press conference, McCarthy maintained that Chiefs’ history in South Africa, will have no influence on the respect they will receive on the pitch come Saturday.
“Chiefs have always been one of the biggest teams in the Absa Premiership you know, whether they have bad moments or good moments, but, they have the majority of fans (and) I think this game, we like to usually say that we are the ‘Davids’ when we go up against Pirates and Chiefs and Sundowns…” McCarthy told the media.
“But I think that phase has quickly been rubbed away. People don’t look at us anymore as the Davids, we are giant slayers my friend, and we take that and back ourselves and respect them for what they have done in the past. But come Saturday, what they’ve done and who they are is nothing to us, they’ve got 11 players, we’ve got 11 players, we’ve got 11 hungry lions to go out there and they want to eat and there is a wounded animal on the other side,” he added.
