Cape Town City head coach, Benni McCarthy thinks that being able to constantly hit the back of the net is not something that can be taught despite how hard players work.
Bafana Bafana’s all-time top goalscorer has been experiencing a bit of bad luck with his side’s inability to find the back of the net.
McCarthy, who experienced an illustrious career, where goalscoring came easy for the retired footballer, explained that he has learnt that being able to do what he did was something that he was born with.
“I will ask my mother because she gave birth to me, it is a natural thing,” McCarthy told the media.
“I think you can’t teach that, I have tried, believe me, I have tried, every day for almost 200 and odd days as a coach, every day finishing and trying.
“If it is not a natural instinct thing, then you cant teach it. Players have what they have, South Africa must just accept that we are limited when it comes to producing strikers with national instinct because it is a natural instinct and you cant teach that,” he added.
