It is thought that Matsatsantsa were looking to sell the 31-year-old midfielder and make some money on him before the window closed, however when interest wasn’t forthcoming they decided to agree to a mutual termination.
Now, as the former Moroka Swallows man seeks a new contract elsewhere, the Siya crew has been informed that couple of Absa Premiership outfits have shown some early interest.
As reported in this week’s issue of Soccer Laduma, both Golden Arrows and Jomo Cosmos are keen to bring in the ex-Orlando Pirates player, however it is thought that his potential wages may be a sticking point even if he is open to a move to Abafana Bes’thende or Ezenkosi.
The crew will keep tabs on the situation in the coming weeks to see where Chenene, who was on loan with University of Pretoria last year, ends up.
