Kaizer Chiefs coach, Stuart Baxter, has spelled out the club's intention to try and win every tournament and game in which they take part. The club begin their schedule of league matches in 2014 when they face Mamelodi Sundowns in a top-of-the-table clash on Thursday (January 23).
Chiefs hold a healthy five point lead at the top of the standings and could extend their advantage with a good result against the Brazilians. However, Sundowns have also enjoyed some good preparations in the lead-up to this game. Pitso Mosimane's charges defeated Zambian Premier League champions, Nkana FC, in a preparation match earlier this month.
Baxter outlined what some of the club's preparations were during early January and expressed his view that Chiefs aimed to win every tournament in which they took part.
He told the club's official website, "We have been training here at home and played some friendly games. We enter every tournament with the aim to win and that’s our onset ambition. This year has been extraordinary in terms of planning due to a number of factors but we have planned as much as we could so far."
