Kaizer Chiefs head coach, Stuart Baxter, has reiterated his desire to sign players, but says a hike in transfer fees makes it difficult for the club.
Chiefs are believed to be interested in signing a number of players in the upcoming January transfer window, although up until now they are yet to confirm any successful moves.
The likes of Edward Manqele and Katlego Mashego are known targets for the Amakhosi, while others player such as George Maluleka, Moffat Mdluli and Sibusiso Vilakazi have also been linked.
However, Baxter, talking to Chiefs’ official website, has bemoaned the fact that the transfer fees demanded for some players have doubled since Chiefs began to show interest.
Baxter told KaizerChiefs.com, “We have targets, but the asking price doubled than from what we first thought when we mentioned our intentions to acquire the players. We are trying to strengthen in all departments but we will not break the bank as we want to also develop our academy.
“It will be a balanced approach but certainly we want to strengthen the team in each position to create more competition and that will allow us to rotate the team.”
