Free State Stars have welcomed Jurie Basie and Salmaan King to their training grounds. The two players previously played for Santos in Cape Town.
Stars’ interim coach, Themba Sithole and his assistant Kinnah Phiri are seeing the need to strengthen the squad in preparation of the second round of fixtures in the 2013/14 season.
“King is training with the team. He started with us when we returned from the Christmas break. He and the guy called Jurie Basie that used to play with him at Santos are training with us,” a source at Stars told the Siya crew.
The Bethlehem-based side is sitting at position 15 on the Absa Premiership standings, just three points above bottom-placed Golden Arrows.
