The men from Limpopo moved on to four points after they recorded a 1-1 draw with the Soweto giants on Tuesday evening.
Nyirenda says Baroka were in control in the second half and feels they should have scored three goals.
“It was not going to be easy for us. In the first half Kaizer Chiefs controlled the most parts of the game,” Nyirenda SuperSport after the match.
“We could’ve got one [goal] in the first half but we didn’t that gave them [Chiefs] a lot of space to play. They have a mature team that can play the ball around and confuse you with the passes.
“That’s the mistake we did in the first half, we gave them too much room. But in the second half, the whole second half we controlled the game.
"We created a lot of scoring chances we could’ve scored at least three goals. We hit the post three times I think we’re getting better each day."
