Goals from Vincent Pule and Thembinkosi Lorch condemned the Buccaneers to a 2-1 defeat at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.
“First all congratulations to the coach and the team Pirates for winning this game. We didn’t do the right things in the first half,” Nyirenda told SuperSport TV after the match.
“Like I said before the game, our mistakes are the same. We seem not to be getting it right at the back, we’re giving away silly goals. The first goal how do you give a player of [Vincent] Pule’s calibre all that space? You’re committing suicide.
“The second goal was just a give-away. The goalkeeper had a miscommunication with the defender. Those are school boy mistakes.
“Then look at our chances. We had more clear chances than them in the second half. In the second half we came looking good but all those chances we gave them away. We need to work on scoring chances and defending well.”
