Mpumalanga Black Aces will look to end SuperSport United’s unbeaten record when the two teams meet in an Absa Premiership match at Mbombela Stadium on Sunday.
SuperSport have so far maintained their 100 per cent record in the league after winning all three of their opening matches.
“They have to lose at some stage and I’m hoping that my boys could be the ones that inflict that loss on them. It’s not going to be easy, but I’m confident that the boys will win this game,” Aces coach Clive Barker told the Siya crew.
“Judging by the way we have been playing in the last couple of matches, I honestly believe that we are in with a chance of winning this game.
“We were unlucky to lose our last game against Moroka Swallows. I thought we dominated that game and we should have walked away with a win, but we failed to convert our chances. Hopefully, we’ll take our chances this time around,” added Barker.
In head-to-head stats, Aces and SuperSport have met in 16 league matches since 1990.
AmaZayoni have eight wins compared to Matsatsantsa a Pitori's four, while four matches have been drawn.
Aces have a good home record against United, with four wins and just one loss from eight matches.
When the teams last met in the league in the 2010/11 season each managed to win their home match 2-1.
