University of Pretoria welcomes Wits at home tonight as they aim to continue with their good run of form.
Tuks coach, Steve Barker, a former Wits player himself, said facing his former side is sentimental but emotions will be set aside for 90 minutes as he wants the three points.
“Yeah we went to Cape Town and got a point which is not a bad result under the circumstances. The fact that we kept a clean sheet was for me a good sign. We’re unbeaten in the league and we aim to continue to do well. As much as we wanted a win, we still have to credit ourselves for a job well done. Our home form has been good this season, we picked up 22 out of 27 points. It’s our responsibility to play well and dictate the terms of the game.
“Wits is a quality team, they’re on a better position on the log and had a poor loss last weekend so they’ll want to bounce back. It’s going to be a tough one but our home form has been good. There’s no reason to go to the game with no belief that we can’t get the three points. I spent a long time at Wits as a player, Wits is a well-run club but sentiments will be set aside for 90 minutes. My focus is on University of Pretoria now to win this one and it’s going to be a battle for rivalry as universities. We haven’t beaten them yet in the PSL hopefully tonight we will,” added Barker.
Barker revealed that they want to make their students and management proud by winning tonight.
The game gets underway at 19:30.
