Date: 12 February 2013
Venue: Peter Mokaba Stadium
A second-half brace from Erwin Isaacs handed Clive Barker a winning start to life at Wits as his side won 2-0 away to Black Leopards.
Leopards suffered a blow in the first 45 minutes with Rodney Ramagalela having to come off with injury in the 21st minute, with David Zulu coming on from the bench.
Mzikayise Mashaba had an early shot sail just wide from outside the area after a short corner while Isaacs worked Azwindini Maphaha in the 27th minute in what was a tight first-half.
Zulu sent an effort wide of the left upright just three minutes into the second period while Samuel Mabunda was off-target moments later.
The opening goal then arrived in the 55th minute when Isaacs tucked the ball into the bottom right corner from deep inside the area.
Mongezi Bobe had an effort blocked out for a corner three minutes later while Calvin Kadi failed to test the goalkeeper with a strike from outside the area soon after.
Leopards still had a chance to snatch a point in the latter stages of the game but Wits would make the result safe with five minutes to go when Isaacs put the ball over the line from close range.
The Clever Boys saw out the remaining minutes without too much trouble to start 2013 on a high.
