Bafana Bafana played to a 2-2 draw with Morocco in their final group stage game of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations on Sunday, seeing the host nation toping Group A and qualifying for the quarterfinal stage.
South Africa will play their quarterfinal game in Durban, after finishing first in the group, however coach Gordon Igesund has given the team an off day on Monday (today). The coach said that the players have worked hard and deserve some rest.
He told the Siya crew that they will be back at training on Tuesday, as they prepare for the knock-out stages.
“It is just wise to give the players a break and let them relax their minds and body. They have been in camp non-stop, for almost a month now and they deserve this break. It is just for today so that we can start preparing for the next game.
“The players fought hard against Morocco and I hail their fighting spirit. They showed that they are committed to the cause and they did very well," the four time PSL title winning coach concluded.
