Following the recent victory over world and European champions Spain in a friendly game, Bafana Bafana could be taking part in another friendly, this time against neighbours, Namibia.
The game, which is likely to be played in Windhoek should it go ahead, would serve as a possible preparation game for January’s CHAN tournament that will take place in South Africa.
Bafana’s first game in the CHAN tournament will take place on January 11 at Cape Town Stadium when they take on Mozambique, and Gordon Igesund will be hoping to organise a few friendlies before then to help him decide on his squad for the competition.
Should the game against the Brave Warriors take place, it will be the second time within the space of a year that the two teams have met, with the first game having been played in July, when goals from Mamelodi Sundowns duo, Jabu Shongwe and Hlompho Kekana, led Igesund’s men to a 2-1 win.
The Siya crew will continue to monitor the current situation at Safa to see which friendlies will be organised prior to the start of next year’s CHAN.
