Bafana Bafana go into tonight’s international friendly against Morocco edging the Atlas Lions on results in their last five games.
The Moroccans have invited South Africa to be part of the inauguration of the new Agadir Stadium and it has been reported that the match is a sold-out affair at the 45 480-seater stadium.
Gordon Igesund’s side go into the game on the back of a 2-1 loss to Zimbabwe. Prior to that, Bafana walloped Botswana 4-1 in the last match of their ill-fated World Cup qualifying campaign and they beat Burkina Faso 2-0 in the Nelson Mandela Sport & Culture Day. This was prior to losing 2-0 to Nigeria, having come off a 2-1 win over Lesotho, away from home.
Meanwhile, Morocco beat Gambia and Tunisia in June and July, but they have not recorded a win since then. They drew with Tunisia in the return leg of the World Cup qualifiers and suffered a loss at the hands of Burkina Faso, before drawing with Ivory Coast last month.
