Bafana Bafana have dropped down another place in the FIFA rankings that were announced today.
South Africa’s national team took a hefty drop in the rankings last month, going from 59th place to 67th, and this month they’ve gone further down the pecking order into 68th.
Overtaking Bafana is New Zealand as the nation took up their lowest ranking since January of this year.
South Africa haven’t made it into the world’s top 50 since 2011 and their placing will not be improved due to the fact that they won’t be partaking in the 2014 World Cup.
Meanwhile, they remain the 12th best-ranked team in Africa, with Ivory Coast, Ghana and Mali leading the pack within CAF.
Spain continue to top the table, while Argentina have moved up to second place, Germany occupy third, with Italy and Colombia following behind them.
