Orlando Pirates striker, Lennox Bacela, says they are taking their next fixture against Wits seriously as they look to pose a serious challenge to the teams above them on the league table.
Bucs are playing catch-up in the league, following their exploits in the Caf Champions League, where they went all the way to the final. Roger de Sa’s men have played 11 games, four adrift of Kaizer Chiefs who lead the chasing pack, and the 30-year-old Bacela believes they are content with having games in hand rather being at the top at this stage of the season.
Bucs will face Wits at Orlando Stadium on Tuesday evening, where a win for Gavin Hunt’s side would see them occupy second place ahead of Mamelodi Sundowns.
Bacela, who will be hoping for a start after being dropped in recent games, told the Siya crew, “It’s a very important game for us. We know that it’s better for us to be in the position that we are in now and work our way up. We don’t want to be on top at this stage of the season because the only way from the top is going down."
"We know that we just need to collect points. We have four games in hand and we don’t want to drop points in any of the games, and it starts with the match against Wits,” he concluded.
