Bafana Bafana midfielder, Ayanda Patosi, has described scoring his first goal for the national team as a special moment that he will never forget.
Patosi scored the opening goal for Bafana in an international friendly against Australia earlier today. His strike, however, was cancelled out by Tim Cahill's header seconds later, as the two teams played to a 1-1 draw in Sydney.
“It was a special moment that I will never forget and I’m happy that my mom was watching the game,” Patosi told the Siya crew.
“The ball came nice for me. Tokelo Rantie gave me a nice ball and I had to finish it by putting it in the corner,” added the Khayelitsha-born midfielder.
Asked if people can expect more goals from him in the Bafana shirt, Patosi said: “You can expect someone who will give the best for his country at all times and the rest will follow.”
Bafana will next play New Zealand in Auckland on Friday, May 30.
The game will commence at 09h30, SA time.
