News filtering through to Siya Crew’s desk is that, Golden Arrows have signed a Ghanaian defender, Seth Owusu.
Speaking to the Siya crew, Abafana Bes’thende’s Public Relations Officer, Vusumuzi Vilakazi, said the defender was at the Lamontville-based club for a week’s trial but the player impressed the technical team and was offered a six month deal.
“The coach checked the defender as he was here for a week, and decided to sign him because he was happy with what he saw. He has signed with us until June next year. He’ll feature for the team when we resume with our league games after the Christmas break. His name is Seth Owusu,” said Vilakazi.
Although the PRO could not say whether Arrows will sign more players during the January transfer window, he said that the coach and management will decide on decision to make further acquisitions.
“There will be a meeting tomorrow between the coach and the board to see where we can re-inforce the squad. So I cannot say we will or will not sign more players,” added the PRO.
The 23-year-old defender played for Medeama FC before moving abroad where he joined American club Chivas.
His brief stay in the USA proved unsuccessful which led to his return to the Ghanaian football to join Hearts of Oak.
Arrows are currently rooted at position 16 on the league table, with 10 points after 15 games.
