Golden Arrows and the football fraternity is in mourning following the death of one of its long-serving players in the early hours of Monday morning.
Nkanyiso Mngwengwe, 30, passed on in his hometown of Kwazulu-Natal and it is understood the cause of death was natural causes. But the club did not give information regarding this when a statement confirming the defender had passed was released to the public just after 10am.

Mngwengwe joined Arrows in 2013 and has to date played in over a 140 matches for the Absa Premiership outfit, which he has also captained in the past.
But this season he had fallen down the pecking order and had not registered a single appearance for Abafana Bes'thende.
Mato Madlala, the chairlady at Arrows, paid tribute to the player: "I am saddened by the passing away of Nkanyiso. I remember when he first arrived at Arrows as a promising footballr, full of energy. He was always ready to fight for the team and acquitted himself very well over the years."
The club said the details of his funeral are yet to be finalised.
