Ajax Cape Town’s CEO, Ari Efstathiou admitted that the club will consider buying another club’s Premier Soccer League should it become available.
The Urban Warriors have given up the quest for top-flight football, reconciling themselves to accept life in the National First Division next season.
Efstathiou was asked whether Ajax will consider buying another club’s PSL status, as it was recently seen where AmaZulu FC purchased the PSL status of Thanda Royal Zulu.
“If something became available and it was affordable, I think we will have a look at it but I don’t know what the rules of the league will allow but, now we hear rules and we panic,” Efstathiou said on Friday.
“Again, we were allowed to play Ndoro and that was what the rules said and look where we are now. If it did become available and if it was affordable and if the league gave us written permission, yes I suppose we would consider it but realistically, is it possible? I very much doubt it,” he added.
