Baroka FC host Polokwane City at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday. The last time the two teams met, Polokwane and Baroka drew 0-0 at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium in August.

Since last season, following Baroka’s promotion to the PSL from the NFD, neither of the two teams managed to beat the other in a league match.

As confirmed by the organisers, the Absa Premiership ‘Woza Nazo’ hits Limpopo this week for the Bakgaga v Rise and Shine match.

“The most anticipated fixture in the Absa Premiership calendar for football fans in Polokwane has finally arrived as local neighbours Baroka FC host Polokwane City in the Absa Premiership Woza Nazo Polokwane Derby at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday, 24 February 2018.

“For the first time in the two club’s short Absa Premiership history, one of Baroka FC or Polokwane City have the chance to finally claim bragging rights in the Limpopo Derby as neither has yet to record a victory in this fixture since the first league clash between the two city rivals last season.

“Both teams, who share a similar stadium name but play at two different venues across the road from each other, are battling for different ambitions as they gear up for this Woza Nazo Polokwane Derby rivalry fixture.

“Baroka are looking to secure a top 8 spot come the end of the season while City are struggling for winning form at the bottom of the log, as the Absa Premiership marathon starts heading to the finish line.

“The Polokwane Rivalry fixture is the seventh instalment of the unique and exciting Woza Nazo series that has captivated local football since the start of the season last August. Woza Nazo, meaning ‘Bring it On’ is Absa’s brand campaign for 2017/18 Absa Premiership season which draws on the loyalty and passion that players and supporters have for the sport and for their teams,” the organisers confirmed in a statement.
