Mamelodi Sundowns forward, Anthony Laffor, says his side will not be intimidated by the form of Mpumalanga Black Aces when the two teams play it out tonight.
The Brazilians host AmaZayoni at the Loftus Stadium, in what should be an interesting league game on Wednesday night.
“The longer the game goes without us scoring, the more Aces players will grow in confidence and we don’t want that. We know their venom as we have tasted it before. Throughout this season, our philosophy has been putting teams on the back foot from the first whistle and there’s no way we are going to change that now just for Aces. They might be giant killers but they can expect the same treatment as the other teams we have played with in the PSL thus far."
Going into the match, the Mpumalanga side will be beaming with confidence, especially after their good run of late in the league, but Laffor says the form book will be chucked out of the window on Wednesday night.
"Yes they have been very impressive of late and they have never been a bad side, but so have we. It’s hard to ignore our good run but right now there’s much more to fight for. We want to consolidate a place at the top of the log and they want to continue their giant killing spree.
"Don’t get me wrong they (Aces) are a top side and will surely now fancy their chances in the top four of the log table, but I think they will be more motivated to beat us because of their newly earned reputation,” Laffor told sundownsfc.co.za.
