Ajax Cape Town debutant, Bantu Mzwakali, was awarded the Absa Man of the Match award in the clash against Mamelodi Sundowns at Cape Town Stadium last night.
The match between the Urban Warriors and Msandawana ended in an exciting 2-2 draw with all four goals scored in the second half.
It was Sundowns who drew first blood with a good finish from Bongani Zungu, while Ajax midfielder Keagan Dolly levelled matters just four minutes later.
Lebogang Manyama put the Urban Warriors ahead from the penalty spot with 30 minutes left on the clock, but Cuthbert Malajila equalised for the visitors and the match ended 2-2.
Bantu Mzwakali impressed on his PSL debut, after graduating from the Ajax Cape Town youth academy. Mzwakali formed part of a middle three for the Urban Warriors, alongside fellow youth products Abbubaker Mobara and Keagan Dolly.
It was Mzwakali who impressed most, up against the likes of Teko Modise and Hlompo Kekana, to win himself the Absa Man of the Match award.
In Ajax’s last three Absa Premiership matches of the 2013/14 season, three of their youth development graduates have won the Absa Man of the Match award.
In the Urban Warriors’ 1-1 draw to Wits, goalkeeper Brandon Petersen picked up the Man of the Match award, while defender-come-midfielder Abbubaker Mobara won the Man of the Match award in their 2-1 home defeat to AmaZulu.
