According to media speculation in Turkey, 19-time Super Lig champions, Galatasaray, are eager to tempt Anele Ngcongca to Istanbul.
The 26-year-old defender, who has been with his current club, Racing Genk, since 2007, has been a regular face in the Bafana Bafana set-up in recent years, and has long since been linked with a move away from Belgium.
Media in Turkey have insisted that Gala have already put in an offer for the right-back, and are currently awaiting a response from Genk as to whether they would be willing to sell him or not.
A move to Galatasaray could be a step in the right direction for Ngcongca after he became disillusioned with life at Genk this season, especially after their poor form in the Belgian Pro League.
Signing for ‘Cimbom’ would not only see Ngcongca move on to a bigger team, it could also see him playing Champions League football next season, should the Turkish side clinch the number two spot in the league.
The Siya crew will continue to monitor Ngcongca’s situation at Genk in order to gauge whether a move to join up with Didier Drogba and Co. will materialise.
