Mark Mayambela has left a good impression on Swedish club, Djurgardens, during his trial this month, although the future hasn’t been discussed yet.
The tricky 26-year-old has been on trial in Sweden for a couple of weeks now as he attempts to get his career back on track and earn himself a deal with Blåränderna.
Up until now, ‘Professor’ has done well, grabbing two assists and playing a role in two more as Djurgardens beat Mariehamn 7-0 in a recent friendly.
While it is thought that the winger will be offered a deal in Sweden, the club’s Sporting Director, Bo Andersson, says that the future is yet to be discussed with the player, even though he has left a very ‘good impression’.
Speaking to the Siya crew, Andersson said, “We haven’t actually discussed the future yet, but he’s made a very good impression since he’s come in. It can’t be easy going from the summer in South Africa to the cold Swedish winter, but it’s been so far, so good from him.
“Mark is here for a month overall, and so far we’re confident with him and he’s confident with us, he’s left a good impression both on and off the field. We’ll discuss the future soon.”
Mayambela has been without a club since he left Mpumalanga Black Aces earlier this season after being accused of turning up to training under the influence of alcohol.
