Wits Close To Finalising Gamal Deal
Amr Gamal Is Close To Finalising A Move To Finland
Bidvest Wits are believed to be close to finalising Amr Gamal’s move to HJK Helsinki in Finland, with the Egyptian international chasing a spot at the World Cup in Russia.
The 26-year-old forward joined the Clever Boys at the start of the season, but after scoring five goals in his first 11 games, he fell out of favour and hasn’t made Gavin Hunt’s matchday squad since back in January.
Now, with Gamal looking to get playing again in order to try and land a spot on the plane to Russia, it has been confirmed that he is on his way out, with the Siya crew having previously reported that he had been given early leave to return to Egypt over the international break.
According to Wits’ CEO, Jose Ferreira, they are hoping to finalise Gamal’s move in the near future. He told the crew, “There are some final pieces of paperwork that we’re trying to finalise before his move is completed.”
The Finnish season gets underway on April 8th when Helsinki face FC Ilves, and clubs in the Veikkausliiga have until April 10th before the transfer window closes.
HJK have a friendly against FCI Levadia set up for this weekend, but it remains to be seen whether the Al Ahly man’s loan will be completed in time to feature in that game.
