AmaZulu have received a huge boost ahead of their match against Mamelodi Sundowns with two of their stars returning to training.
Usuthu are set to host the Brazilians in an Absa Premiership clash at the King Zwelithini Stadium on Sunday.
The Durban-based outfit has confirmed that defenders Marc van Heerden and Sadate Ouro-Akoriko have resumed full training after recovering from their respective injuries.
“Sadate is returning from an ankle sprain. He is just struggling with a little bit of a bone contusion. But he is returning to full training. He has mild symptoms, but we will see how he progresses this week regarding availability,” AmaZulu’s physiotherapist Karel Du Toit told the club’s official website.
“Marc Van Heerden has recovered well from a grade one calf strain. He is also in full training. We will also evaluate him through the week of training and see if he can pass a late fitness test. But he looks good,” added Du Toit.
The club has provided an update on former Kaizer Chiefs winger Ovidy Karuru, who is yet to play this season.
“Ovidy Karuru is still returning from quite a significant ankle injury. He is in full training. We just need to get him 100% comfortable at competition level,” confirmed Du Toit.
As confirmed by the club, midfielder Sphesihle Maduna and defender Boiki Modisakeng have both returned from minor injuries.
