The club’s website and Twitter feed confirmed the eighteen month deal, as did the player’s agent Mike Makaab.
Makaab tweeted, “Tshepo Liphoko has been transferred from Pirates to Amazulu. The 2012 Bayhill player of the tournament is one to watch out for!”
Nineteen year old Liphoko, who is originally from Durban, spent seven years at the Soweto club, and was promoted to the first team last year.
Liphoko tweeted about his old club after joining Amazulu, saying, “I wont’ forget the years at Orlando Pirates. Started as a development player, till the first team. Seven years of hard working. Thank you Pirates.”
Capped at under 20 level, Liphoko made an impression last season while on loan at Golden Arrows.
Amazulu Team Manager Japhet Zwane told the club’s web-site that Liphoko would be considered for selection for the Ajax game.
“He’s a talented boy with a big heart and a winger that we definitely need because of his ability to take on opponents, and he can also score vital goals,” Zwane told the Usuthu web-site.
