The crew has been informed that Mark Harrison and his technical team are on the lookout for another goalkeeper, despite having signed Arthur Bartman, who was Maritzburg United goalkeeper coach. Arrows have conceded 25 goals in 15 league games and have seen the need to bolster their last line of defence ahead of the second round of the campaign.
The Durban side recently parted ways with Siyabonga Mngoma, who has since joined Thanda Royal Zulu, and currently have development products Ricardo Goss, Damian van Rensburg (both 19 years old), Nkosingiphile Gumede (20) as well as veteran Bartman on their books.
According to our source, Zikalala is expected to sign a pre-contract with Arrows, paving the way for him to start his career at the club in July. He signed a two-year extension to his AmaZulu contract prior to the beginning of this season and it is not yet clear whether Usuthu would be willing to see him leave for their archrivals.
Repeated attempts to get comment from Arrows spokesperson Vusuuzi Vilakazi on their alleged interest in Zikalala proved futile at the time of writing.
