An important decision has been made regarding the future of former Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana Bafana defender Tsepo Masilela by his current club AmaZulu.
After spending 14 months without a club since parting ways with Chiefs in 2018, Masilela was handed a lifeline at AmaZulu after being offered a short-term deal in November last year.
The agreement had been for the experienced left-back’s original contract to run until June 30 but the Durban-based club has confirmed that the 35-year-old will now be staying put until the end of the 2019/20 season, which is still suspended since mid-March.
“He will be with us until the conclusion of the season for now, and until a decision is reached beyond that,” AmaZulu’s media officer Brilliant Mkhathini confirmed to the Siya crew.
AmaZulu are left with six matches in their Absa Premiership campaign, and depending on how he does in helping the team in the relegation battle with his experience, Masilela could earn himself a contract extension at the club.
