The defender believes that the KwaZulu-Natal team has done fairly well thus far in their campaign.

The former Orlando Pirates player says he and his teammates have managed the rise from NFD to the PSL.

“Well, we started the season quite well. We managed to win our first league game which was against Free State Stars. I don’t think we need to put any unnecessary pressure on ourselves.

“Because we are coming from the National First Division (NFD), people thought we would struggle. But we have done fairly well in this league. We must treat each game like a cup final,” Gumede told Usuthu’s official website.

Following their 1-1 draw against Pirates in a league game in Johannesburg on Saturday, AmaZulu are preparing for a trip to the Mother City to face off against Cape Town City on Friday.
