AmaZulu Coach: We Lacked Confidence
AmaZulu Coach Bemoans Loss
AmaZulu head coach, Cavin Johnson, feels that his team lacked confidence in their game against Cape Town City.
Usuthu lost 1-0 against City in their Absa Premiership game at the Cape Town Stadium on Friday evening.
“They (City) got a good Christmas present. I thought we would go away with at least a point in the end. In saying that I thought AmaZulu players were not at ease on the ball,” he said.
“In the first half, we could have converted that one chance that we had. Then we would have been more confident in the second half because we played too much in patches in the first half,” Johnson told AmaZulu’s official website.
“In the second half, we came back looking a little bit better. But we lacked confidence and they came back at us, and they managed to score. We were not at our best,” he continued.
“We have to go back and regroup in order make a statement that we made a few matches ago when we came out came out and looked really good.
“We have 9to) do that again. We have to try and fix the players which is the most important part of the game. We are not the ones on the pitch. The players are ones who are on the pitch,” he added.
“They have to analyse the opponents that they are playing against and they need to make sure that they compete with them.
“We competed in moments. The moments were not good enough to get us a positive result against City,” the coach concluded.
