Following the Absa Premiership fixtures draw for the 2014/15 campaign, the University of Pretoria coach, Steve Barker, has welcomed the draw.
AmaTuks will travel to Polokwane City for their opening game of the season on the weekend of August 8-10, and the coach says they will aim to change their fortunes against Rise and Shine.
The Tshwane-based club lost both their games to the PSL rookies last season by 3-0 and 2-1 scorelines respectively.
“It was disappointing last season not to get a win against them, conceding six points wasn’t a good thing. However, we have to fight back as soon as possible. It’s a fair draw in my view, we welcome it. It’s an opportunity for us to get off to a good start, but we are aware that there are no easy games. Polokwane and Chippa United away isn't easy, so we’ll try and be ready."
“We’ll be back for preseason on the June 23, but some players will be back next week to do some conditioning, basically gym work and no field training. We’ll try and be stronger than we were last season, and the majority of the squad will be retained. We’ll be looking to add four players into the squad. We have targets but none of them confirmed yet,” affirmed Barker.
