University of Pretoria are fresh from a 2-1 win against Moroka Swallows, and are aiming to continue doing well until the end of the season.
Tuks goals came courtesy of Ugandan forward, Geoffrey Massa and defender, Grant Kekana. Prior to this match, Steve Barker's side had lost to 2-1 Mamelodi Sundowns in the Tshwane Derby, and to Polokwane City by the same score line, but had other plans against the Dube Birds.
Speaking to the crew, Media Officer, Khatho Mbanda, said their aim is to keep the momentum until the end of the season.
“We have three games remaining and the pressure is off a bit and we can’t drop our heads now. We’re pleased with the three points but it’s not over yet. Four games means it’s 12 points to play for, and we aim to finish better. It could have been three losses and losing points at this time is not what we want.
“We’ve been fighting hard to reach the 30-points mark, and we’re now aiming to collect as many points in our remaining games. Our next game is against Free State Stars and we all know they’re in the relegation zone, and it’s going to be a tough one for us,” added Mbanda.
Tuks are now at position 11 with 31 points after 26 games, and will travel to Charles Mopeli for their next encounter mid-next week.
