Amajita continued their preparation for the African Youth Championship qualifier against Cameroon with a 10-0 win over SAB League side, Mahwayi Young Stars.
Dikgang Ngcobo managed to bag four goals, with fellow strike partner Tshepo Chaine getting a brace, while, Hashim Domingo, Morne Nel, Skhumbuzo Mazibuko and Siyanda Ngubo grabbed a goal each.
Amajita coach, Shakes Mashaba, believes it was good to see the side score so many goals and says he told the boys to show Mahwayi no mercy.
“We should have reserved at least three for Sunday, but on a serious note it was a good thing to score so many goals to let the other team feel that they are not on the same level. I told my boys to go in there and show no mercy, let them know how it is like playing at this level. I think I am happy with the 10 goals, at least we are doing something right. Hopefully we will continue from here on Sunday when we face Cameroon,” Mashaba said in a statement.
Mashaba also said the clash on Tuesday night has shown them what they need to work on ahead of the Cameroon tie.
“First of all we would like to thank Young Stars for helping us with our preparations. Now we know where we need to rectify, what we need to work on. It is always good to have training sessions but such games give us a chance to implement what we do at training and we can see where things are not working."
"It was a good game, they have some good players and most importantly they play as a team. But we were on a different level and I can safely say at their level they will surprise many teams. The good thing is that they have given us some homework to do in our remaining training sessions,” added Mashaba.
