Alfred Ndengane has revealed the details of his move to Orlando Pirates while also speaking about how his wife reacted to the news of him signing with the club.
Ndengane joined Pirates in October from Bloemfontein Celtic but had his official debut for the Soweto giants delayed until now during the January transfer window, as his signing at the time happened outside of the transfer window.
Following his official debut for Bucs this past week, against Chippa United in an Absa Premiership match on Tuesday, the defender provided more insight on how his move to the Houghton-based club happened.
“The club has been interested in me for some time now – maybe two to three seasons now, but for whatever reason, the deal never happened. To be honest, I thought it would never happen,” the centre-back told Pirates’ official website.
“But look where I am now. I am here and I am pleased to be part of such a big institution. Joining a club like Orlando Pirates is a dream come true for me but more so for my wife because she is a huge supporter of the club. The way she was excited you would think she was the one that signed for the club,” added the 31-year-old.
