Alexander Thanks Ertugral

Ajax Cape Town will get their second round campaign underway next Monday when they face Orlando Pirates at Orlando stadium.

The game comes at the back of coach Muhsin Ertugral's resignation from his post as the Urban Warriors mentor, and the Siya crew had a chat with midfielder, Cole Alexander.

The 24-year-old revealed that they will have to move on and forget about the coaches’ departure as they will face the Buccaneers away from home.

“The preparations have gone well thus far. We’ve watched Pirates' videos and we are assessing their weaknesses, we hope to do well against Pirates. We’ve done well in all our friendlies so we plan to continue doing well in the league. We’ve got a good coach in Ian Taylor. He has been around for a while and we’ve done our preparation during the break with him. So, all in all, he hasn’t changed a lot,” said Alexander.

Ertugral came back from Turkey on Sunday this week, which was a sigh of relief for the Ikamva-based outfit, however, news of his resignation left the Mitchell’s Plein-born midfielder disappointed as he benefitted a lot from the former Kaizer Chiefs coach.

“I learned a lot from Muhsin I cannot lie, he gave me the chance to play here but that is football. It is disappointing for him to leave but we can’t change it, in football these things happen. I’m just grateful to have played under him. He is gone now and I believe Taylor will take over and continue giving us the best football and is a good coach too,” said Alexander.
