Mamelodi Sundowns legend, Alex Bapela, thinks that Pitso Mosimane doesn’t want to be questioned as head coach at the Chloorkop outfit.
'Barnes' recently parted ways with the Brazilians where he was serving as the assistant coach to their MultiChoice Diski Challenge team.
The former midfielder has indicated that the fact that he continuously questioned Mosimane, could be a reason behind why he was sidelined, as Mosimane wanted to be in full control of proceedings.
“When I was Pitso’s first assistant, everything was fine. We could argue or discuss tactics and game-plans. Sometimes he would win the argument and sometimes it would be my turn,” Bapela told Soccer Laduma.
“He always respected my views and vice versa. However, after Manqoba (Mngqithi) and Rulani (Mokwena) joined, things changed completely!
“I was still vocal about my views and maybe that’s what the head coach didn’t like. Maybe he thought I would teach the other two assistants not to back down on their beliefs and views.
“So he probably didn’t want to be questioned and that could be the reason I was sidelined.”
What is your take on Bapela’s story? Do you think it’s fair that Downs dismissed him and do you think Pitso’s decisions shouldn’t be questioned?
