Former Mamelodi Sundowns legendary midfielder, Alex Bapela, thinks that the best players at Downs are not playing as they should so deservedly due to favouritism.
Bapela was dismissed by the Chloorkop outfit after airing his grievances with his situation at the club in recent times.
The former midfielder was initially demoted from his role as assistant to coach Pitso Mosimane to the head coach of the MultiChoice Diski Challenge first team.
He was then further demoted to assistant of the MDC team, despite achieving good results with the team.
The 46-year-old was dismissed by the Brazilians after he made his grievances known to Downs’ management. He told Soccer Laduma about some of the issues he has with how the club is run.
“Favouritism is killing Sundowns and I believe the team that is playing is definitely not the best team we have,” Bapela told Soccer Laduma.
“Players aren’t treated equally, which is why some of them lack motivation. We shouldn’t be struggling against some of these teams, but when you play unmotivated players, then that’s unfortunately what you get.”
Do you think Bapela has a point or do you think that Mosimane chooses the best players?
