Ajax Cape Town have yet again proved the strength of their youth system by winning the U17 Coke Cup last weekend, adding yet another trophy to their academy's highly successful season.
The Cape based academy have already seen their U17 side win the Engen Knockout title earlier this year, while their U15 side also won their local district Super league title.
The U19 side have been impressive this year, claiming the 2013 Metropolitan Cup over the Easter weekend and winning the coveted 2013 Copa Amsterdam tournament, beating the likes of Ajax Amsterdam and Borrusia Dortmund on route to the final.
The Ajax U17 side beat the Jean Marc Ithier Academy 4-1 in the finals of the Coke Cup at Phillipi Stadium to cap a successful year in which the Cape academy once again produced an abundance of youngsters who were promoted into the first team at the start of the 2013/14 Absa Premiership season.
Brandon Petersen, Tashreeq Morris, Matthew Rowell, Michael Kwong and Bantu Mzwakali were all promoted to the senior side and form a vital part of head coach Muhsin Ertugral’s chickens at Ikamva.
