Ajax Cape Town are looking to give their current head coach, Muhsin Ertugral, a two-year contract at the club after he managed to salvage their PSL status.
Ertugral was brought in to Ikamva as this year’s PSL season came to a close, with Ajax in serious danger of dropping out of the Absa Premiership.
However, wins over Kaizer Chiefs and Golden Arrows, as well as two draws with Chippa United and Maritzburg United, were enough to save the club from relegation to the NFD.
With Ertugral’s short-term contract due to expire, the club’s CEO, George Comitis, has explained that the Turkish mentor is expected to sign a new two-year deal in the near future.
Comitis told the crew, “It’s on the table and I don’t think it’s going to be a problem, we’ve just got to get through the semantics but we’re looking to extend Muhsin’s contract for another two years.”
The Urban Warriors will be looking to strengthen their side substantially ahead of the new season as they attempt to improve greatly on their poor showing of this campaign.
