Ajax Cape Town have confirmed that Cole Alexander, Nathan Gertse and George Akpabio have all returned to the club following loan spells, and that Paul Rusike has been released.
Alexander spent last season on loan with Chippa United, while Gertse and Akpabio also remained in Cape Town, playing for Vasco da Gama.
It’s thought that Akpabio, who impressed during his spell with Vasco, could well be registered with the Ajax first team next season.
The club’s CEO, George Comitis, told the club’s official website, “All our players who were on loan last season are returning to Ikamva for 2013/2014’s pre-season.
“Cole Alexander, Nathan Gertse and George Akpabio will be returning to the club ahead of the new season; however we will not be renewing the contracts of Brandon-Lee Adams and Sici Selembe who spent last season on loan to Vasco.
“We have also decided not to renew Paul Rusike’s contract with Ajax Cape Town came to an end this season, we have decided not to take the option of the year extension and he will be free to find a club of his choice.
“Also released are Nhanhla Vilakazi and Sander Westerveld, whose contracts have come to an end. Vilakazi has since signed for Maritzburg United.”
Ajax are currently in the process of tying down midfielder, Lance Davids, as well as striker, Mabhudi Khenyeza, ahead of their 2013/14 campaign.
