Ajax Cape Town travel to Bidvest Stadium in only their third match of the 2013/14 season Absa Premiership, with the Urban Warriors claiming one draw and one defeat, so far.
Ajax opened their 2013/14 PSL campaign with a draw away to Golden Arrows, with a late equaliser via Lebogang Manyama.
One month later, the Urban Warriors hosted AmaZulu, where the Cape side suffered their first defeat of the season. Ajax are currently in 12th place on the PSL standings, however a win could see them move up to sixth place on the log.
Wits and Ajax have met in 26 previous league encounters since the 1999/2000 PSL season. Although, each side has claimed eight wins against each other, Wits have only managed to defeat Ajax on four occasions at home.
The Clever Boys took four points off Ajax during the 2012/13 Absa Premiership campaign, when the two side’s drew 0-0 in Johannesburg. The return match in Cape Town saw Wits claim a 2-0 win, which nearly proved devastating for the Urban Warriors, as they narrowly escaped relegation to the National First Division.
Ajax Cape Town’s next three Absa Premiership matches are at home to Mamelodi Sundowns, away to Polokwane City and at home to Free State Stars.
