Ajax Cape Town have slammed reports linking their head coach, Roger De Sa, to current CAF Champions League holders, Al Ahly of Egypt.
The crew managed to put a call through to the club's PRO, Thabiso Mekuto, who revealed that the reports are untrue.
With Roger De Sa’s link to Al Ahly, there’s no substance to the reports. We rubbish them and he’s our coach. We take that as a joke,” said Mekuto.
Meanwhile, news filtering through to the Siya crew is that Ajax Cape Town have put contract talks between midfielder, Granwald Scott and the club, on hold.
“No there’s nothing new with Scott, at the moment he’s focusing on his game. We’ll see at the end of the season because he’s got representatives all over and closer to the club. We all know the club has parted ways with our sponsor, MTN, and the contract officially expires on May 31. There’s nothing new regarding the sponsor at the present moment.
The crew previously reported that the midfielder was in talks with the Ikamva-based outfit, but due to injuries, the talks were put on hold.
"The player has now resumed playing but there’s nothing happening,” added Mekuto.
With the season drawing to a closer end, it’s not clear whether the club could part ways with the Mamelodi Sundowns duo, Thamsanqa Sangweni and Eleazar Rodgers, with the on-loan pair set to return to Mamelodi Sundowns.
